Last week the Christina completed this years first musical journey. Our guests were from the Danish Sejaarde school of music. We were joined by skippers, on MPS Waterland and the Amsterdam. It was a wonderful sailing week.
The weather was beautiful and the week was full of music.
Either the group gave a concert or they visited a concert.
Our journey started in Amsterdam and from there we went to Haarlem where
the group had its first performance of their trip. The performance in Haarlem
was a big success!
The next day we set course for The Hague but unfortunately, the Cruquius bridge
was down. The failure could take a while, so after some discussion between the
skippers and the group, an alternative route was taken across the Kaag to
Delft.
The students really enjoyed the view during this unexpected sailing route and
the sudden surplus of free time was a welcome change from their busy itinerary.
Now the young musicians finally had some time to relax. The rest of the day was
filled with chatting, playing board and card games and in the evening the
students performed on top of the sundeck. The performance was full with
laughter and the good weather made for a very cosy atmosphere throughout the
evening.
The next day the group gave a performance in Delft on the Grote Markt. And the
rest of the day the group stayed in Delft to enjoy the picturesque buildings
and old town.
On the 4th day we sailed to Leiden as the group also had a performance there.
After a busy day the group came back on-board for a delicious dinner and some
relaxation.

At seven o'clock the ships left for Amsterdam via Schiphol. And this route had some very impressive sights as the planes flying very low over the Ringvaart. In Amsterdam the group had a guide to take them for a walk around the city. And after the tour was done it was time to buy some souvenirs for the friends and family at home.
To finish the trip, there was a Captain's dinner, with fries and hamburgers. And the crew was surprised with a gift as a thank you for the wonderful week that the school had on-board the Christina.
As you can see on the pictures, the trip was full with beautiful sceneries and lots of fun and the group is already discussing with us about next years voyage.
