If you let us know in advance by commenting in the comment box or send us an e-mail then yes, it is possible to check in after 21:00.

If you leave us a comment while making the booking we will send you and e-mail about 1 week before your arrival, asking you to confirm your check in time with us. After confirmation we will send you the self-check-in instructions. These include directions on how to get to our hostel, the code for your key and how to get into the hostel with this key and lock everything up after you finish.

How do i get to the hostelboat?

If you come by car, there are two parkings we would like to recommend you
&

These are both parking areas that are specially made for long-term stays.

P+R zeeburg is also a Megabus stop ( Zuiderzeeweg 46 1095 KJ Amsterdam)
The parking is located at Piet Heintunnel, from A10 exit S114,
Transport to centre of Amsterdam: tram: 26, bus 37, 245.

€ 1.50 for every 20 minutes, after 5 hours it switches to a much cheaper price per 24 hour
after 24 hour again €1.50 every 20 minutes until after 5 hours. and this cycle repeats.
Right next to central station and much closer to our hostel.
make sure you pick up your car after the 5 hours have passed in every cycle!

From Schiphol
Take a train to Amsterdam central station
You can use this website to plan your train trip: www.9292.nl

From Central station
you can walk to our ship (about 10 to 15 minutes) get out of the central station from the Central exit

Please print out the map on the following link:
Our ship is located on Oosterdok Pier nr 4
If you get lost, ask for the NEMO (scientific museum) it’s very close to our ship.

The name of the ship is Christina, and there is a big sign of Intersail on the side.

Is there a curfew?
After  you have checked in, you can enter and leave the hostel as you please.
We do ask you to be considerate and remain quiet after 22:00 in the sleeping and shower areas and on the deck.

Is it really not possible to book the hostel during these dates?
Because our ship’s main function is to sail through the Netherlands and Belgium, we are not able to publish our hostel availability very early in advance.

Especially during the months between April and September we will be sailing a lot and won’t be able to upload earlier than a few months or sometiems even a few weeks in advance.

We understand you really like to stay with us, so we ask you to keep checking our site every few weeks.
If the period you would like to stay with us is in this month we are probably not functioning as a hostel or fully booked.

Next to that during the winter period we might only be opened during the weekend

Will group bookings be accepted for the hostel?
That depends on the group. Because we are a small hostel we want to get to know the group first before we confirm any group booking.

If you have a group of 6 or more members, please contact us by e-mail so we can work out the details. In some cases we might ask you to confirm all of the rules again, and pay a deposit per person. The deposit will be returned after check-out and there have been no problems during the groups stay like noise or damages.

It is possible of course possible to book the entire boat for your group in case you have something to celebrate.
In this case, please contact us by e-mail

How big are the rooms? / What can I expect?

The hostel is on a boat, which means the rooms and beds are small, especially the 4 person rooms. The boat is made out of metal which means it is easy to hear sounds move through the boat like water or loud voices. Next to that the toilet and showers are shared. So everything combined, it means we are not able to offer luxurious rooms. For light sleepers we have disposable earplugs available for € 0.50 a pair.

However, we remind all our guests to be quiet in the sleeping area and on the deck after 22:00 and you can call us on +31630230691 any time during the night if there is too much noise!

Next to that we have a comfy lounge for our guests to stay, whenever you don’t want to be in the city or the room.

Feel free to put on some music or use our Wi-Fi in the lounge.

You can always ask us questions or have a nice chat.

Can I bring my kids?
Yes as long as your kids don’t mind to stay on a boat (Check the question above)

We have some board and card games for families and friends to play.
If kids are light sleepers it might be useful to bring some earplugs, or buy them at the hostel.

Please be reminded the hostel is in a boat, if your kids can’t swim or they are very energetic, make sure to keep an eye on them.

Can I invite my friends to come over?
Ask us upon arrival, as a rule of thumb, non paying guests are not allowed to go to the sleeping area.

Depending on how busy it is, guests can stay in the lounge untill 21:00

After this time we’ll ask your friends to move the party / friendly chat to the city.

When non-paying guests stay in the bedrooms without prior request, the guests will have to pay for their room for their entire planned stay, pay an extra charge for their non-invited guests and asked to leave the hostel

Because we are a small boat hostel, we can simply not afford this option as there is a big risk of too much noise.

Next to that it’s not allowed to have more people sleep in the rooms than the amount of beds available because of safety issues.

Why do you need to know my arrival time?
As we are a small hostel we normally have one person working who does check-ins, small repairs and groceries. Sometimes we have to go out for shopping.
The hostel will be locked at those times and guests who don’t have a key will not be able to get in.

This is why we ask you to let us know what time you check in, so we can make sure we will be there when you arrive, and do groceries during the time nobody is expected to check in.

If you already gave us your check in time, you can always give us a call or text to change the check in time, for example if you are in a traffic jam or your flight has been delayed.

Our hostel number is +31630230691
